“I love bread”- Oprah Winfrey
I watched this commercial while sitting in the TV room of my sorority house one night before dinner and it spoke to me. It spoke to everyone sitting in the room. We all love bread.
“Bread is the reason my thighs look like this” really should have been my senior quote in high school but I naively chose the sappy and nostalgic route instead. I now realize the mistake I made.
Bread is one of the most versatile foods, along with potatoes, which in my opinion also deserve their own article. There is white bread, potato bread, wheat bread, rye bread, there's probably a whole world of different kinds of breads I haven't even heard of yet. My favorite of all bread products are bagels. If I were to go on 'My Strange Addiction', it would most certainly be for my appreciation of bagels. There is literally no faster way to get me out of bed in the morning than telling me that there are bagels in the kitchen. My pantry in my college apartment currently has two loaves of bread, two bags of bagels, English muffins and box of croutons.
Those people who don't eat the bread at restaurants who think they're being "healthy" are just weak minded folk and natural selection is coming for them.
Over summer I wrote an article about giving up carbs and it was an awful experience I would recommend to no one, because not only was I crabby 24/7 but I wasn't allowed to eat bread and that will change your life for the worse. After the aforementioned experiment was over, or when I cut it off early because I missed bread too much, I had a new found appreciation for what I had given up.
So yes, I will go to Panera and get a bread bowl AND bread as my side. Yes, at Cheesecake Factory the waitress will bring over three baskets of bread before the meal even comes out. Yes, at Einstein Bagels I get two bagels in between classes. Yes, when there is cornbread at my sorority house, I eat no less than three pieces. And no, I do not care.
This was 100% an entire article describing my love for bread and I had a wonderful time writing it.
