Even if you've never watched a single episode of "The Bachelor" before, you have probably heard of it. So many girls love watching it and love discussing and gossiping about the contestants. If you are obsessed with "The Bachelor" like I am, here are some facts that might surprise you.

All of the girls have to buy their own dresses for each rose ceremony and they are quite pricey.

One contestant reportedly spent almost $40,000 on her rose ceremony wardrobe. Some girls will even buy the cheapest dresses they can find to switch with other girls if they cannot afford to spend a lot of money on the show.

Contestants quit their jobs to come on the show.

Contestants usually find out two weeks before filming if they have made it to the final round which means they only have two weeks to quit their jobs and figure out who's going to watch their house and their pets.

Producers plan the weird entrances made by some of the contestants

If you've ever wondered how some of the guys and girls come up with the weird or cringe entrances onto the show, it's because the producers come up with them beforehand to make it more interesting.

There is no contact with outside world while filming.

Contestants are not allowed to use their phones, watch TV, or sometimes even listen to music during filming. Many have said that it can be hard not having any contact with anyone outside of the house as they can't even leave the house.

Contestants make sure to eat before filming a date.

Guys and girls eat before the dates so that there is time to talk and get to know each other rather than chew on food. Also, because most people don't look very attractive while eating a lot of food on camera.

The overnight fantasy suite dates aren’t back to back.

Andi Dorfman stated in her book that the fantasy suite dates and hotel rooms are spread out evenly so that there is time to decompress and think about each person and what they want.

Everyone has to get tested before they come on the show.

Each contestant has to get tested for STD's before they come on the show and supposedly condoms aren't provided in the overnight fantasy suite.

The hometown dates aren't always at the contestant's family's house.

Sometimes families will use wealthier relatives houses or even rent an Airbnb for the hometown date to make it look nicer on camera if they do not feel comfortable using their own home.

The time in the water during a date is crucial for the Bachelor.

Many contestants and past bachelor and bachelorettes have stated that dates in the water are one of the only times where there is no mic attached to them so they can actually get to know each other and talk a little more privately.

The screening process is creepy.

The screening process begins with contestants making a video where they pitch themselves like a product. Then, if the producers like the video, they move on. During an audition weekend, potential contestants are given a 150-question personality test, which includes stuff like "Do you think you can control things with your mind?" and "Have you ever wanted to kill someone?" Then, there is a one-on-one with a producer and a lot of other personal questions that you may have never been asked before.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
