Day to day we talk to people and socialize frequently. As humans, we are prone to making a mistake in judgment when it comes to saying the right thing to other people. Some people have learned the lessons to word questions and phrases properly, but other people just seem to never learn the art. The few who haven't learned these lessons suffer from asking some obvious or plain dumb questions. Here's a list of some of the things that just make the eyes roll.
1. Repeatedly asking someone under the same roof as you that isn't responding, "ARE YOU SLEEPING?!"
This question just has too much underlying. If I answer yes, once you wake me up of course, technically I'm not sleeping. If I don't respond to the question then does it answer itself? The best way to get a reply is just to look and see.
2. When you're eating, and someone asks if it's good
Honestly, I don't know anyone who gulps down anything and isn't in a rush who doesn't enjoy it. There are times when you need to eat something you don't enjoy just to be full for whatever reason, but no one does that heartily. They do it in a slow and sad manner. If I'm eating quickly and not talking then yes, I think what I'm eating is good. No need to ask.
3. When you're indoors and put on or take off a jacket and get asked if you're cold/hot
This one is just blatantly obvious. You're indoors and not taking photos, so this isn't for a "look." You feel different from the current temperature.
4. Going to pay, pulling out a card and getting asked: "Are we paying with a card today?"
This question can't be real. I took it out before you could ask how I was paying, so why ask me if that's how I want to pay? Nope, doesn't make any sense.
5. When you ask to go to a restaurant, and someone asks you if you're hungry
I just don't understand this. There are plenty of comfortable or more fun places to hang out besides a restaurant. If I suggest going somewhere to eat that obviously means I want to eat because I'm hungry, not because I'm looking for the time of my life.
6. If you yawn and someone happens to ask you if you're tired
What's the deal with this? Unless someone else yawned and it's just contagious you only yawn if you're tired.
7. When someone sees you yelling and says, "You seem upset."
Yes, there are naturally loud people, but you can tell when someone is yelling out of anger or just to be loud.
8. If you start crying and someone asks, "Are you ok?"
No one is okay when they cry it's the emotion that sparks tears, so you know the obvious answer.
9. Watching someone struggling with something and asking if they need help
The proper question would be "Can I help you?" because while they may not want it if you feel the urge to ask, then you can clearly see that they do need help.
