Cosumerism is great, right? Think again.
It seems like every month there is a hot new item, making yours feel obsolete. Just look at companies like Apple. There's already talk of a new iPhone, when the iPhone 7 just dropped not too long ago.
I get it. This is how money is made, but I can't help but think of all the waste.
Last year I got beats headphones--something I really wanted-- and now this year, there are wireless headphones. I would love the wireless Beats, but the pair I got last year are still in perfectly good condition. What would I do with them if I got a the wireless headphones? Just throw them to the side and forget about them? Probably. But that's a waste of money.
The point is, we live in a world where it's slowly becoming okay to ditch your perfectly fine product for the latest and faciest gadget, creating a vicious and perpetuitous cycle.
What does this say about us? Are we becoming greedy? Or are mass-markets manipulating us?
We could try to stay one step-ahead, but then again, we never really know what the best and newest technology will have.
