OCD: Obsessive Cat Disorder

It's a cat lover thing ... you wouldn't understand.

Personally, I know I have a problem. OCD: Obsessive Cat Disorder. Whether it is cuddling up to your feline friend or trying to establish a relationship where you wear the pants, not them, cats have a wonderful way of snuggling their way into our hearts. Some people (ahem, dog people), do not understand why we as cat people obsess over our little companions. So, here is a list of why we obsess over our little fur babies (because I do what I want, that's why).

1. They are adorable.

They are furry and they are just so lazy. Whether they are fat or small, they can steal your heart in a minute without you even realizing it. And that combination makes them just plain adorable.

2. They are great at snuggling.

Because they are so lazy, they sleep a lot. Which is great because they love to cuddle up next to you after a long day at work or while you are trying to fall asleep. Plus, their main goal is to keep you warm even if they are so small.

3. They go through everything with us for years.

Whether it is happy times or sad times, events or memories, cats are there. Cats can usually pick up on how you are feeling and know how to handle you as their owner. This makes them perfect in every way. Cats know when you are sad and can comfort you. They know when you are too cheery, and they will annoy you. Either way, you love every second of it because in the end your cat loves you just as much as you love them.

4. They are so amused by the simplest things (i.e. string and boxes)

Cats will be amused with anything. You could buy a whole thing of toys, and the cat would still choose the bag that the toys came in. You could put their toys in a box, and they will take their toys out of the box just to play with said box. They will find anyway to get a piece of string to play with from clothing, bags, crafts, and anything they can get their paws on. But hey, cats just wanna have fun!

5. They are incredibly fun to face swap with.

This is my fur niece. She loves taking pictures ... well, sort of.

6. There is an entire musical dedicated to cats

It teaches how the pyramid of feline hierarchy works. And on top of that, there are some pretty fierce dance numbers in it as well.

7. They are so dang photogenic

Whether it is beauty or it is hilarious, cats take awesome pictures.

8. They are seriously just so fun to chill with.

I mean, putting things on their head while they just sit there is considered entertainment, right?

9. Cats are incredibly intelligent!

Cats seriously know certain words. They know times and schedules and how to follow them without being trained. Talk about impressive!

So, whether you have a cat or don't, at some point you may find yourself suffering from OCD: Obsessive Cat Disorder. It is a common ailment, so don't fret! I'm positive that after a snuggle or two, you will be more than OK with it!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.
