My obsession with the moon was sparked by a quote:
"No one grows tired of the moon. It is cratered with imperfections. It has a dark side. It is all alone in a sea of stars.
She was the moon on Earth, and I will never grow tired of her."
This quote made me think about how society treats people. We are all taught to act a certain way, look a certain way, hide your ugly, and flaunt your pretty. The moon serves as a reminder to me that this society is not the boss. It is so beautiful and pure, and it shines brightly each and every night and shows its imperfections with pride. It goes through phases and has its dark places.
In reality, we are all like the moon. We are all beautiful, we should all show our imperfections with pride, we all go through phases and have our dark places, and we are all alone in a sea of stars. I am obsessed with the moon because it reminds me to be me. Even when society says otherwise. Shine brightly, and be 100% you 100% of the time. Be the moon.
