OAK Restaurant Brings New Vibe to Downtown Gainesville

In the heart of Downtown at 15 SE 1st Ave, on April 2nd, 101 Management will be opening its doors to its latest scene, OAK. OAK stands for Original American Kitchen, which will introduce an infused vibe of original, classic tastes, and a modern, big city. 101 has brought Gainesville some of its most popular spots including 101 Cantina and 101 Downtown, but OAK will be a place set apart from the rest of the town.

101 Manager, Ryan Prodesky, shared that the goal of OAK is to “offer a spot for young professionals and students in the twilight of their undergraduate years to relax in a comfortable place that is still very social and enjoyable". After 10PM, OAK will be a 21+ destination that is mature, yet still never falls short of a young and fun atmosphere.

In the end, however, what truly distinguishes OAK from all other spots is the food and brews. Some of the most notable menu items are the mac & cheese stuffed onion rings, southern style short ribs, and fried Twinkie with salted caramel ice cream. Most unique is the self-serve taps that will be available using a card purchased at the bar, which is fully complete with 14 options of craft beers and four different whiskeys.

Of course, a perfect night here is never complete without a glass of one of their signature drinks designed to fit the vibe and tastes of OAK. The bar will offer a variety of selections of Southern style cocktails, such as the “Derby Day Julep" and the “Southern Gentleman". Although, all of the drinks on the menu are sure to bring the flavors of the South with an edgy twist together.

Whether your idea of a great time is a live band, lounging with friends and a drink in hand, or a party complete with all the best offerings, OAK will be the place for you to enjoy. With the innovation present in this restaurant and bar, the possibilities are endless for an unforgettable time.
