As a consumer in a fast-paced beauty industry, I find it really difficult to keep up with trending beauty looks while still putting a little bit of my paycheck in the bank. The solution to your spending problem is simple: try NYX. If you've been to Ulta or a beauty supply store, you've probably seen the make up brand NYX. Not only does NYX offer affordable prices to keep up with today's styles, but they also test their formulas dermatologically in labs rather than using animals in labs. Throughout the years, I've collected quite a few favorites and I'm excited to share them!
Face
High Definition Blush in Pink the Town
All the NYX blushes are very pigmented however this particular shade is the perfect peachy pink flush that looks very natural on the skin. I have seen a lot of people use the mocha blush shades as contour powders but I have yet to find a shade like that for myself.
Illuminator in Ritualistic
I've recently started using highlighter more in my daily routine and find myself picking this one up every time. It has a high staying powder (even when I got into the ocean with make up on one day) and has the prettiest gold tints to give you a very sun-kissed look. I will be throwing out my old Lorac highlighter because it fails to be half as good as this highlighter.
HD Finishing Powder in Banana
My under-eye concealer can crease really badly if I don't apply powder under it. I used to use this same powder but in Translucent until I realized it made me much more pale in photos when flash was used. Obviously it needs to be renamed Slightly Ghostly.
Invincible Foundation (medium to full coverage)
I don't like a very heavy or powdery foundation so this medium coverage liquid foundation does the trick for me! I've been using it for two months and it has not broken me out at all. It has a very matte finish and can be built up once it dries to cover up any redness in the face. I personally get redness in my cheeks that often peeks through strong concealer so finding a foundation that can cover without looking "cakey" is key in my natural make up routine.
Lip
High Voltage Lipstick (any color)
These are by far my favorite lipsticks of all time! The color of the tube is the exact color they will be on your lips. The formula is really moisturizing and lasts for a good period of time throughout the day. These lipsticks come in a wide range of color and are pretty in expensive so you can go wild and try new things. Right now I have six, but I'll probably try to pick up a neutral taupe shade soon.
NYX Lip Liner (any color)
It's cheap and it does it's job well. What more can you ask for?
Liquid Suede (any color)
These are similar to liquid lipsticks but it's mousse like texture on the lips make it a creme lipstick. I wish they had a couple more every day colors, but I've been pretty happy with the mauve toned Soft-Spoken and the deep red Cherry Skies I bought. I was going to buy Tea and Cookies but the last one was all opened up and gross. No thanks.
Color Lip Balm/Butter Lip Balm
This a great starter for young girls who want to wear make up or for people who get chapped lips but want a little tint to it. Nice colors and a nice hydrating formula. It's a win-win for everyone.
Eyes
NYX Eye/Eyebrow Pencil (the pencil type)
Like their lip liner counterpart, these are cheap and work just as well as a some high end brands. However the low cost of these eyeliners let you have the ability to play around with the color on your eye lids without the guilt of wasted money.
Vivid Brights (any color)
Best. Color. Liquid. Liner. Ever. I can't say enough good things about these eyeliners. They apply super easy and has high staying power. They look good on pretty much everyone and can be worn to day or night functions. The Vivid Brights are adding color back and I'm loving it. There's currently nine in the collection, hopefully they'll release a teal color for all the UNCW Seahawks fans!
