There's no point to a meal if you don't have dessert, especially with so many places to explore in NYC. Naturally, I have a list of all the places I've been meaning to visit; all that's left to do is go.
Dough
This one is kinda cheating because I have had one of their doughnuts before. I've never been to the store, so that makes it okay. Their brioche dough makes the fluffiest, most satisfying doughnuts to bite into. I tried the plain glazed one, but I'm looking to be a little more adventurous the next time I go.
Max Brenner
I know, pretty much everyone and their mother has been to Max Brenner at this point, but I haven't and I want to go! Best known for their chocolate fondue and their milkshakes, the place is practically chocolate heaven.
Levain Bakery
Recently rising to fame on Instagram, Levain Bakery is said to make the world's greatest chocolate chip cookie. Their cookies are baked fresh daily and people are waiting on lines out the door and up the street to get them.
Holey Cream
Doughnut ice cream sandwiches, need I say more? Pick a doughnut, an icing, unlimited dry toppings and up to two flavors of ice cream. Really, you can't go wrong.
Momofuku Milk Bar
Momofuku Milk Bar is an award-winning bakery filled with things like cookies, cakes and soft serve. Their soft serve rose to fame in the last year on Instagram, making it even more popular.
Dominique Ansel Bakery
Made famous from their cookie shots and cronut, Dominique Ansel Bakery produces beautifully crafted baked goods on a daily basis. Dominique Ansel, the pastry chef, was named one of Business Insider's "Most Innovative People Under 40." Their Blossoming Hot Chocolate has also been filling my Instagram feed lately.
Doughnuttery
Highlighted by Unique Sweets on the Cooking Channel, Doughnuttery is a small stand in the middle of Chelsea Market. Mini doughnuts come fresh off the conveyor belt and are sprinkled with the flavored sugar of your choosing. These flavored sugars aren't run of the mill either. Chelsea Market recommends Speckled Strawberry and Urban Monkey.
Thanks to the popularity of Instagram, good food is easy to find. I'm looking forward to the stomachache I'll definitely have after eating all of this.
