'Now That's What I Call Thanksgiving Music' Part 2

Last year at this time I called attention to a very obvious problem we have with Thanksgiving: that we don't have nearly enough music about it. If you'd like to check out those songs to get you in the holiday spirit, here is the link.

Well this year the Thanksgiving music is back and better than ever, but this time with a Disney twist. That's right, I combined this beloved holiday with some of your all-time favorite Disney songs. So it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I welcome you to be my guest to share in these Disney Thanksgiving songs...

When you're counting down the days until Thanksgiving is finally here: "Almost There", The Princess and the Frog

It's almost here. It's almost here. People probably think I'm crazy, that's how much I care. and Projects and examinations, I've had my share. There ain't nothin' gonna stop me now 'cause it's almost here.

When your grandma makes the best stuffing around and you're can't wait to enjoy some: "I Just Can't Wait to Be King", The Lion King

Oh, I just can't wait for stuffing. Oh, I just can't wait for stuffing. Oh, I just can't waaaaaait...for stuffing

When everyone's setting up all the food and you just want to eat: "When Will My Life Begin?", Tangled

And I'll keep wondering and wondering and wondering and wondering. When will this line begin?

When the timer goes off on the oven and the food's now ready: "That's How You Know", Enchanted

That's how you know. That's how you know. That's how you know. That's how you know the turkey's done.

When your relatives bring along a new significant other you haven't met yet: "Strangers Like Me", Tarzan

I want to know, can you show me? I want to know about these strangers I see.

When the food is so good, as per usual, and you want to make sure you thank the cooks: "I Wanna Be Like You", The Jungle Book

Ooh-bi-doo, I wanna cook like you. I wanna trim like you, baste like you, too.

When you're picking out all of the food you're going to eat: "You'll Be In My Heart", Tarzan

You'll be on my plate. No matter what they say. You'll be here on my plate, anyways.

This one works equally well: "Mine, Mine, Mine", Pocahontas

It's mine, mine, mine for the taking.

When you're a college kid who hasn't seen this much good food in a while: "For The First Time In Forever", Frozen

For the first time in forever, there'll be turkey, there'll be buns. For the first time in forever, nothing is microwave-done.

When you didn't wait to let your food cool and you burn your mouth (but it was worth it): "Hellfire", The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Like fire, Hellfire. This fire in my skin. It burns like no other, yet I will bite again.

When you're fighting over the last dinner roll: "Let It Go", Frozen

Let it go, let it go. Won't hold it back anymore.

When you're full but you still need to check out the dessert table: "Something There", Beauty and the Beast

There might be something there that wasn't there before.

When you regret not listening to your mom earlier when she said not to eat too much: "Mother Knows Best", Tangled

Mother knows best. Listen to your mother. There's just too much food out there. Mother knows best. One way or another, you'll regret eating it all, I swear.

When you're watching the football game and your team starts scoring big: "Zero to Hero", Hercules

Zero to zero, right off the bat. Zero to hero, after that pass.

When you think about all of the hard-working people forced to work that day or Black Friday: "Poor Unfortunate Souls", The Little Mermaid

Those poor unfortunate souls, so sad, so cruel. Customers come flocking to the store crying "Sale prices, please!" And they help them, yes they do!

When you're just so grateful for all of your family present: "A Girl Worth Fighting For", Mulan

What do we have? A family worth fighting for.

And there you have it. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
