It is finally November, and everyone knows that Georgia is the "Peach State" - that explains all those peaches all over our license plates! However, there are some healthy and delicious seasonal fruits and vegetables that you have to eat in November in Georgia!

1. Apples

Apples are extremely rich in antioxidants, which are disease-fighting compounds, and fiber. There are also many benefits of apples.

1. Teeth whiter and healthier. By biting and chewing an apple, it stimulates the production of saliva in your mouth and reduces tooth decay by lowering the levels of bacteria.

2. Avoid Alzheimer's disease. Drinking apple juice can actually keep Alzheimer's away and fight the effects of aging on the brain.

3. Limits all sort of cancers and diabetes. The consumption of apples could help reduce your risk of developing pancreatic cancer by up to 23 percent. Women who eat at least one apple a day are 28 percent less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than those who don't eat apples.

2. Pecans

Pecan pies were a holiday dessert that I can eat only around this time and Christmas. However, I found this awesome recipe from epicurious.com. It is really easy, and I can guarantee you that you won't fail. I tried this last week, and even though I have no knowledge or experience with baking, I was able to bake it ,and it turned out pretty good!

Ingredients: Pastry dough, 3/4 unsalted butter, 1&1/4 cups packed light brown sugar, 3/4 cup light corn syrup, 2 teaspoons of grated orange zest, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 3 large eggs, 2 cups pecan halves (1/2 pound), whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

1. Preheat oven to 350°F with a baking sheet on middle rack.

2. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface with a lightly floured rolling pin into a 12-inch round and fit into a 9-inch pie plate. Trim edge, leaving a 1/2-inch overhang. Fold overhang under a

nd lightly press against rim of pie plate, then crimp decoratively. Lightly prick bottom all over with a fork. Chill until firm, at least 30 minutes (or freeze 10 minutes).

3. Meanwhile, melt butter in a small heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar, whisking until smooth. Remove from heat and whisk in corn syrup, vanilla, zest, and salt. Lightly beat eggs in a medium bowl, then whisk in corn syrup mixture.

4. Put pecans in pie shell and pour corn syrup mixture evenly over them. Bake on hot baking sheet until filling is set - 50 minutes to 1 hour. Let it cool completely.

3. Tomatoes

I still can't really tell if tomatoes are fruits and vegetables. However, whatever it is, it's delicious and good for your health! There are 10 reasons why you need you to eat tomatoes right now:

1. Good for your hair and skin

2. Purifies your blood

3. Help fight against infections

4. Lowers risk of heart disease

5. Keeps the digestive system on tract

6. Good for your eyes

7. Keeps your bones strong

8. Low in calories and high in taste!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
