The idea of beginning the Christmas season on November 1st has been a long and drawn out duel amongst fellow consumers and Christmas advocates. Personally, I fall on the side stating that the start of Christmas is in fact the day after Halloween. For me, November 1st is the start of the Christmas season. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Thanksgiving but I also love the fact that my christmas lights are up and ready to be lit following my turkey dinner. So here is a list of things you know to be true if you are in fact, a lover of early Christmas:
1. You cannot wait for the Starbucks Holiday Cup release. Hot chocolate with whipped cream is by far the best way to start the season.
2. You explore all of the early Christmas aisle setups to gauge this year's holiday trends.
3. You already, mostly have your Christmas list made up and ready to go.
4. Christmas music magically finds its way into your playlist.
5. You are ready to put up decorations. All of them.
6. You subtly begin to hang up a few Christmas decorations here and there in order to ease everyone else into the spirit of things.
7. Halloween Pillsbury cookies may be on sale, but you're paying the extra dollar for the reindeer ones.
8. You take the B101 Christmas poll a million times just to have the station begin playing music as soon as possible.
9. The idea of an outdoor ice rink opening sends you into full December mode.
10. Christmas tree farms are starting to advertise and you can't wait to pick the perfect tree.
11. ABC Family's 25 days of Christmas hasn't started, but you're already snuggled up watching your favorite Christmas movies.
12. You don't bake, but the holidays put you in the spirit, so you start testing the newest cookie recipes.
13. You fail the recipes horribly and settle for the Pillsbury pre-made ones.
14. It is never too early for the mall Santa to be out and about.
15. Window shopping is in full swing and you're very impressed with the displays already set up this year.
16. You still know that November will not give you enough time to get gifts for everyone.
17. Panic of the season sets in as you realize you still have no idea what to get anyone.
18. Eventually December 1st arrives and you reach full-on Christmas mode.
19. You're ready to go around hunting for Christmas lights.
So here it is, the list of the ultimate November Christmas lover. November first may seem a bit early, but you can't help but be excited for the season. Where pumpkin spice, pumpkin picking, and bonfires once stood comes hot chocolate, tree decorating, and singing along to Christmas songs. Here's to the fellow November Christmas lovers far and wide.
