What We're All Looking Forward To This November

Halloween is over, Christmas isn't here yet... so WHY love November?

Meet Me On The Balcony

November is FINALLY here and we have multiple reasons to be "thankful" for that!

Football Season:

The one season almost every girlfriend is forced to enjoy and practically every father makes sure their family enjoys!

Daylight Savings:

Not too excited about the dark, but definitely anticipating that extra hour of sleep.

Election Day:

I think we could all agree that this election is the biggest joke of this year. Seriously, this election has been nothing but a game of “would you rather?” and I cannot wait until it’s all over! That being said, we will finally have an answer for the number one question that we continue to ask: who will be the next president of the united states!? Obama, we will miss you dearly. Honestly. This year will be the first time voting for many citizens (including myself)! Make surety exercise your right to vote on November 8th, 2016!

Thanksgiving Break:

I’m just excited to actually have a real break.

The Thanksgiving Day Parade:

Nothing makes Thanksgiving more official than Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. Between the performances, blow up balloons, sales discounts and everything else… it sure does know how to start off someone's Thanksgiving morning!

Thanksgiving:

Thanksgiving is anticipated every year for plenty of reasons. Family gatherings are always the best… but food is obviously way better.

Friends-Giving:

After all the hard work we put into classes, organizations, making new friends etc. going home to finally reunite with all your friends who also went off to school (or stayed home without you) is one of the best feelings ever.

“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving”:

This is obviously a classic that cannot be forgotten.

Black Friday:

Such a bittersweet time of the year. This day marks the beginning of the Christmas sprit and the end to a savings account! It's so bittersweet that it deserves not one gif, but two.

Cyber Monday:

Basically another day dedicated specifically for us to spend money we do not have (except this time we do not have to wait in line to do so). Plus, we get to experience the excitement almost nothing else could relate to: coming home to a package you've been dying to receive!

Christmas Slowly Approaching:

As Christmas shopping begins, so does the decorating! I refuse to let everyone who decorated for Christmas right after Halloween suck the fun out of my decorating! Putting a tree up in my dorm is going to make me and my roommate's home away from home that much better! Not to mention this means we finally get to start planning for everything Christmas related.

Fall Semester Coming to an End:

Does this even need an explanation?

Early Gift for Your Sanity:

Here’s a list of all the Original TV shows, sitcoms, and movies Netflix will be releasing this November!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
