Generally speaking, the story of America is the story to deal with racial differences and white supremacy. The fact that the KKK is an organization that is still prevalent in the 21st century, where the current generation is being brought up under the forces of globalization, is amusing. In a TV interview with Jake Tapper on CNN, the Republican nominee (Trump) for the President of the United States is carelessly dismissing the vowed support shown towards him [1]. The Crusader, the official newspaper of the Ku Klux Klan, and its leader, David Duke, have documented their support towards Donald Trump. The Washington Post in their November 2, 2016 edition, released this candid support shown towards the Republican candidate [2], but it is very interesting to see that The Premier Voice Of The White Resistance is unequivocally support of Trump is being falsely denied by the stimuli. Trump has definitely tapped into a very populist and nationalist feeling of the general American, but instead of transforming that sensation towards a productive nationalist agenda, Trump demonized various minorities, ridiculed women and the physically handicapped. This form of behavior is unprecedented and remarkable from a presidential candidate, because it has been the norm for the president to be conducting himself in the utmost professional and polite manner. The President of United States of America is not just the president of United States of America, he is also considered to be the Leader of the Free World and advocate for democracy and its' attributes: freedom and liberty. Donald John Trump does not qualify to be the President of the United States of America due to his lack of knowledge regarding the position and instead of fixing a broken racial ethos in America, he would intoxicate it with more of his angry rhetoric and propaganda.
In this video where John Oliver ridicules Trump [3], Oliver identifies the various flaws regarding Trump’s candidacy. Trump stands up as a protest candidate, who does seem appealing until a spotlight is cast on his platform and his policies. In an article published by Politifact, Truth Check: Clinton and Trump on the Truth-O-Meter with 1 week to go, close to 68% of Trump’s statements range on various degrees of false, the idea that 17% of Trump’s statements have been classified as “Pants on Fire” [4], is appalling. No candidate has ever been able to challenge for the White House with such high level of misinformed statements and agenda before.
Trump does have a policy platform, a very shrewd and biased one, but still a platform. Trump's rapid changes on policy and platform issues is threatening, as in any operation a shifty modus operandi has the potential to jeopardize the entire operation. In a Pew poll released on July 7, 2016, only 7% of the African-American and 24% of the Latino population would vote for Donald Trump on Election Day [5]. That low of an appeal does not present a promising sign for Trump as his and his surrogates comments regarding the African-American community has destroyed his appeal. In various debates on CNN, political commentator, Corey Lewandowski and campaign manager Kellyanne Conway have presented dystopic presentations of their Republican candidate and argued their agenda on the false basis. In this debate on CNN regarding African-American vote[6], Peter Beinart a Political Commentator of The Atlantic, quarrels with Corey Lewandowski regarding the lack of credibility of his source due to singularity of it. This has been the general trend regarding the Trump campaign and its use of unreliable and unscientific sources. Trump and his campaign have generally ridiculed the authenticity of the democratic establishment, and the reliance that citizens of America generally had towards the media. In a recent Gallup poll conducted on September 14, 2016, only 32% of Americans have “trust” or “confidence” towards the media [7]. This low confidence towards media explains the unserious nature Trump’s candidacy was presented during its initial stages. The lack of proper attention and the commerciality of Trump’s remarks have definitely added to Trump’s popularity in the 2016 election.
To retort to a previous made claim, the incoming president, whoever it maybe, Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, has an incredible challenge on their hand. As mentioned earlier, only 7% of the African Americans will vote for Trump, and if Trump wins the presidency; it will be a challenge for him. The upsurge of the Black Lives Movement in response to a broken criminal justice system, is only supported by four in ten Americans, and within that small minority, 65% of African Americans support the movement [8]. There is a lack of credibility from other communities towards this legitimate movement, and this will be the biggest challenge for the president to resolve. African-Americans have always been a subjugated community, and healing these racial divides will be a challenge for the incoming president. The incoming president must have a proper response to solve this racial divide that has restored in America through a Trump candidacy. It is not to say that Hillary would a better job in solving this tension; it shall be tension that might take generations to solve. But, on Wednesday at 12:00AM, America will have made a decision regarding the direction America should take as we transition deeper into the 21st century.
