There Is Nothing To Lose By Prioritizing The Environment

There is everything to lose by not; It's time to listen to the scientists.

There is an alarming amount of people who do not believe in global warming in our country. And most don’t really even know why they don’t believe in it.

Global warming is potentially detrimental to all ways of life if we continue to not expedite solutions for it.

There is nothing to lose by prioritizing the environment. There is everything to lose by not. Think about it this way, if by chance it was not real, wouldn’t we still want to be actively helping the planet and environment JUST in case it was?

Unfortunately, global warming is very much real and if you happen to be a non-believer, or maybe aren’t aware of what it is exactly, then please take a quick moment to consider this.

Scientists can construct a functioning nuclear bomb by measuring and analyzing radioactive decay, which is based on the number of atoms in an element from the periodic table and the rate at which the radioactive parent isotope decays into the elements specific daughter isotope.

The reason this is relevant is that more people need to realize that the scientists that can construct a nuclear bomb are the same scientists that are telling us global warming is a serious problem. If someone chooses to believe global warming is false then they must also choose to believe that even the possibility of nuclear energy is false.

Now, that would be awfully difficult to debate or to dispute due to the fact that nuclear energy is successfully used every day.

Those who don’t believe in global warming must also choose to believe the blatant evidence of nuclear energy (and nuclear bombs that have successfully detonated) is simply not realistic. It would be very difficult to believe nuclear energy is not possible despite the proof and daily use of it.

Another way to put it is that by not believing in global warming you are also choosing to not believe in the scientists, the mathematicians, and the engineers that know what they are talking about. This exact same groups of professionals successfully sent a man to the moon using mathematics, engineering, and raw scientific calculations to make it happen.

If scientists are able to determine all of these things then why would they be wrong about their same calculations of what is currently harming our planet Earth?

Why would they be wrong about the rate of CO2 going into our atmosphere exceeding the number of reservoirs our Earth has that are able to absorb it? Why would they be wrong about their measurements of rising sea level over time? Or the increase in radiation due to the ozone layer being depleted? Scientists can predict solar eclipses and precisely where they will be seen, so why choose to not believe them when they warn us of our destructive influence on the planet?

I wrote this article to make people consider how they think and why they think the things that they do. I want this article to make people evaluate the way they think about certain topics. This article is here to influence people to consider to look into global warming, maybe read a couple scientific journals or even give it a quick google search. Because there really is no time to not believe in global warming. Ignorance can definitely be bliss but the time for ignorance is running out.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
