Some say fall is their favorite time of the year. With the leaves slowly changing colors, and the weather slowly transitioning to sweatshirt or sweater weather. The time of the year where you can put the shorts away for good, and finally break out the jeans and sweaters.
It's the perfect time of the year, Where you don't have to worry about being too hot or too cold. It's the weather you can wear a sweatshirt and jeans, and be just fine.
While Fall is my favorite season, in the great state of Maryland, it seems as if the entire season of fall occurred over the course of 2 weeks.
It seems like only last week it was 90 degrees and boiling hot. I couldn't walk to class without not sweating. I wast trying to figure out if the air conditioning would be too cold in the buildings, and that was my biggest challenge. At least, weather wise, it was.
Now I wake up in the morning and I check my weather app and it says 40 degrees, and part of my mind is telling me to wear a coat, rather than just a sweatshirt. Where did our transition go? I feel like this weather change my have happened overnight.
Now, I may be from bitter cold New England, but going from 90 degrees one day to 45 in the morning two days later is quite a drastic change. Even a New Englander wouldn't be used to this weather change.
It may be the beginning of a stereotypical fall here. With the leaves are starting to change over this week, and I will enjoy every moment of it. From putting my hammock up in the middle of the quad and doing homework, to just enjoying my walks to and from class, I will love every moment. In the meantime, I'll be praying for the winter to fault and have it take it's sweet time getting here.
But knowing that in two weeks we will be heading into another drastic change in temperature is really killer.
But for now, I will watch the leaves change, and pray for some nice cool normal fall weather. And leave the jacket behind, at least for the next two weeks I will.
Happy Fall Maryland, Please stop raining.
