With September ending, all I can keep thinking about is those last summertime Long Island sunsets I'm missing from my favorite beach(s). There's something to say about Long Island beaches. They're kind of magical, and I've been to quite a variety of beaches. You can never seem to find that sand anywhere; it's not too coarse or too soft, or too grainy or too rocky (at least on the South Shore). And it's always filled with shells and drift wood, and if you're lucky even beach glass. Although the water might not be our favorite, especially for a snowbird like me, those icy waves aren't always welcome but we still love when the Atlantic Ocean gives us those rare, perfect moments. Even the Great South Bay will give us that unique state of beauty right before the sun sets. Now getting to my favorite part.
Everywhere I've traveled to or visited or even lived Long Island sunsets cannot be matched. You can get those rainbow moments, or heavy clouds right as the sun dips into the water, or even those blood orange sunsets that if you remember the old fishermen's tale will bring gorgeous weather the next day. So with the nice weather dwindling up north I hope everyone who knows those Long Island summer sunsets can reminisce in these....
