It's Okay Not to Be Okay

Dear Anyone Who Has Ever Pushed Themselves Past the Breaking Point,

You are not alone. This is for all the people out there who push themselves beyond their point of limitation. I am also one of those people. I have to actually tell myself to slow down or take it easy because I tend to take on more than I can handle. I get that from my dad. I am always on the go and I forget to take a break. Not having those quiet moments to relax can take a toll on your body. Feeling the need to always be busy and happy is exhausting and it's caught up with me. So this is a note to all of you: take it easy.

It's great to challenge yourself and set the bar high, but know your limitations and respect that. You need to be kind to your body and be aware that even you have your breaking point. To help with this you can easily find ways to relieve some anxiety or stress. Take some time to sleep more, relax, do your favorite activity, or just find quiet time.

I know first hand how stressful it can be trying to meet the expectations of not only yourself, but those around you. All you need to remember is that you're only human and you can only do so much. I can guarantee your family and friends are very proud of you, so you should be too. Being able to recognize your accomplishments is a tribute of its own and you should be very proud.

In more recent times, things have gotten more competitive in the sense that nothing is simple anymore and there are always bigger and better things that could be done. All you need to remember is that you do not have to do them alone. You do not need to pack all of your plans and stress onto one plate. Spread it out, divide it between your life and that will help control it.

No one expects you to be perfect because perfection is impossibly sought after, so just be the best version of yourself. The biggest tip to help with not overwhelming yourself is to understand what you are able to do and then focusing on what's at hand.

Keep pushing the limitations; just remember to know your own limit.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!
