A Letter To My Best Friends
By: Maureen Logan

Dear best friends,

Thank you. Thank you so freaking much for being everything that you are, you are my clone but yet you have so many unique differences than me at the same time. Without you life would be so unbelievably boring and bland, even though there’s a whole lot of nights where we are just sitting in the car waiting for plans to magically appear, that rarely do, you still make it that time 100x better than being alone. Thank you for being fake “boyfriends” because we are independent women who don’t need a man (but really we just can’t find boyfriends). Still, a Valentine Day spent with you is one I will always cherish because our movie nights, girls wine nights, and date nights are unbeatable.

Thank you for telling me that I look good when I freak out and decide I don’t want to go out because I have no party clothes and I don’t want to put on makeup. And then, thank you for telling me I look like a homeless person and should really start wearing clothes that I didn’t self- proclaim gender neutral. Thank you for just hanging out, helping me with errands, going to get food, because all the time I am able to spend with you is amazing. We get in fights like sisters and yes I admit sometimes I can be bossy/mean but you still love me, and I love you for that. And thank you for saying the hard facts to me that I don’t want to accept, and being there when I have fallen short.

Thank you for always making me laugh when I need it, or at least letting me laugh at you because of some stupid thing you did one time ages ago and I won’t let you live it down. Thank you for being so awkwardly weird with me and accepting me no matter how weird I get. And trusting me enough to have the most ridiculous videos of you singing and dancing on the kitchen floor because you know it brightens any bad mood of mine. Thank you for dancing around like idiots, being incredibly embarrassing, doing squats down the hallway, and just talking to me constantly throughout every day. Thank you for screaming “hello” with me in the car as if we are actually better than Adele and everybody at the red light wants to hear us sing the high note. Thank you for being sneaky little bad role models and making me go out of my comfort zone and live a little bit on the crazy side, and for tagging along with me when I have crazy last minute ideas.

But most of all, thank you for always being there. You are the only people that I can tell literally anything and everything to and I would be nowhere in life if I couldn’t talk to you every day. Please stay in my life forever, because I couldn’t live without you, you are one of the best things to ever happen to me.

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have you, so thank you so very much to my best friends.

I abso(freaking)lutey love you.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
