Maybe Santa is tired of the endless milk and cookie combo from year to year, so why not spice it up this Christmas with something new? These two substitutes for milk and cookies are a perfect and engaging family activity to make to satisfy Santa’s stomach (and yours too of course).

Turn the classic cold milk into a perfect peppermint whipped hot chocolate

Ingredients:

Hot Chocolate Packets

Milk

Whipped Cream

Peppermint Stirring Sticks

Crushed Candy Canes (for topping)

Instructions:

Pour the correct amount of milk into a medium pot on the stove, and let it warm up. After a few minuets pour in the hot chocolate packets. From there whisk for about 5 minuets until it is dissolved and frothy. From there pour into individual mugs and top with desired amount of whipped cream. For the special touch, add a peppermint stirring stick to each mug and add a light sprinkle of crushed candy cane to the whipped cream….and voilà!

Transform tasty cookies into Christmas Toffee Crack

(It’s so addicting, hence the name, so make sure you save some for Santa)

Ingredients:

Saltine Crackers

1 cup of Brown Sugar

1 cup of Stick Butter

1 bag of Chocolate Chips

Crushed Candy Canes

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. On a rectangular pan, lay out all the saltines you can flat next to each other. From there get out a small pot and bring both the brown sugar and butter to a light boil and until they both are completely dissolved. Let it sit on a very low heat without stirring it for about 3 minuets. After the 3 minuets are up, take it off the stove and gently pour over the saltines, covering them as best as you can. Once completely covered, put the covered saltines in the over for about 3-4 minuets or until nicely boiling (that means they are creating a hardening bottom layer for the toffee). Remove from oven when it begins to boil and briskly sprinkle a generous amount of chocolate chips on top of all the saltines. Insert them back into the over for about 2 minuets, while keeping a watchful eye, to make sure the chocolate chips don’t burn. After the 2 minuets remove the pan and give a nice dusting of the crushed candy canes over all the chocolate. Place in the fridge for about 20-30 minuets for it to harden and then they are all ready for Santa (and you) to indulge in!

Enjoy these wonderful Christmas goodies and switch it up this year with something fun and new!

Daily Fun Lists

One of the most dreaded places on campus is the library. Nothing awesome ever happens here. Usually, the only reason you're here is because you've procrastinated so long that the library is the only place you'll actually get stuff done. It gives you this feeling of sadness and impending doom. You have no idea how this is going to go or how long you'll be here, but you do know it is about to be the most excruciating experiences yet. But it has to get done, so you drag yourself to the lovely library.

With each new year comes new goals.

Deciding on a goal can be hard, unsure of what to change for this new year. A new goal for myself is to be happier and take care of myself more. I am a very driven person; so driven that I commit to a million and ten things.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.
