Now Is Not The Time To Go Back To School

Trust me I don't want to spend my senior year of college not at college. But we need to realize going back isn't helping this pandemic.

Now Is Not The Time To Go Back To School

I wrote a an article on why teachers shouldn't feel forced to go back to school And I 100% still stand by that. It's not fair that major athletes are opting out of the season because they aren't comfortable. Which I would like to add is okay too. But what isn't okay is that they are praised for it while teachers are basically getting told to get over it.

But besides teacher we need to talk about students too. So many people had high hopes about going back. I honestly didn't. Trust me I was wishing but I tried to be realistic. If you really think about it going back to school right now isn't the best decision. Virtual learning is going to be our new normal for a bit. I just don't get how the spread if a virus will be contained in a elementary school, high school, and even college. I don't see how living with multiple other people who have different schedules helps this virus.

Now I agree we have to get back to normal someday but that someday is not now. Kids will be wanting to "trade" their masks just like their lunches. College kids will want to find loopholes in the rules. Let's be honest they will try it. And not to mention who wants to wear a mask during class. I personally think that might be difficult. And no I am not complaining and being anti mask. Wear your mask people please.

I so badly want to spend my last year of college at the library with my friends, the student cafe with my roommates, and just being in college. But I also understand my health is just as important. If you don't believe moving in to college right now is the right move then trust your gut. And to the people who need to go to college to not be home then go. I understand that dorms are better than home for some people, and thats okay. Be cautious my friends. Wear a mask and wash your hands.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
