Do Not Fear The Country, Fear God

Remember that He does have a plan for you.

Do Not Fear The Country, Fear God

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and the only person that knows that reason is the man we have prayed to about the recent events in our country.

Today, when I woke up and saw my feed full of fright and negativity, I prayed. I prayed for the safety of my family, my friends, my sisters, my Odyssey team, the kid that sits next to me in class that I've never talked to. I prayed that all of these horrible things people believe will happen won't happen. I prayed for the men and women fighting for us and that they would remain safe wherever they are. I prayed that my vote for this leader was worth it, that he wouldn't turn against us, and that our country can prove something in the next four years. Above all, I prayed that we remained a free country that has been fighting for so long to get to where we are today.

Please do not fear the country, but fear God. Remember that He does have a plan for you and that there will be some light in your darkness. This may turn around for you, but don't begin fearing before it officially begins.

For you believers that need some food for thought, this is my piece:

This isn't me forcing everyone that is terrified to just pray and relax, I know it's not like that. But for the believers that feel the need for some sanity, read these, write, pray, love each other. We all need each other, no matter what your beliefs are.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
