All right, Directioners. If you're also still holding out hope that 1D will someday reunite and reignite the fandom, raise your hands. (You can't see me right now, but I'm raising both hands here.)

It's been more than a year and a half since 1D announced what has become an indefinite hiatus, and I can't be the only one here feeling like a proud momma watching them all succeeding with their solo careers and releasing banger after banger.

It was time for these guys to take a much-overdue break and focus on finding themselves, their styles and their voices separately. And while I know each and every Directioner has been and will continue to support their solo careers, we all are anxious for the day a reunion tour is announced.

But until then, I went through each of 1D's five albums, from the most recent to the masterpiece that is Up All Night, and picked out a mix of lyrics. Some are my personal favorites, some are deep and well-written, and some are just nostalgic. Try to make it through this article without catching the feels all over again--I'm about to hit you with a handful of the best One Direction lyrics of all time.

1. "Feels like this could be forever right now, don't wanna sleep cause we're dreaming out loud."

From "A.M." off Made in the A.M. Doesn't everyone long to be in a situation, whether it's a relationship or chapter of your life, that is so incredible it feels like a dream? Maybe you've even felt this way while at a 1D concert in the past--guilty as charged.

2. "Goodbyes are bittersweet, but it's not the end, I'll see your face again."

From "Walking in the Wind" off Made in the A.M. Personally, I think this lyric was purposeful foreshadowing to the impending hiatus. They promised us they'd be back, and until then we get to see the fruit of their independent endeavors--how cool is that?? Whether a reunion is a year or 10 years down the road, we haven't seen the end of 1D.

3. "How many nights does it take to count the stars? That's the time it would take to fix my heart."

From "Infinity" off Made in the A.M. This lyric is sad upon first read, but it's so poetic that it sounds tragically beautiful. I'm sure a lot of us actually felt this way a) when Zayn left b) when the hiatus was announced or c) both. (Again, guilty as charged, oops.)

4. "We could be the greatest team that the world has ever seen."

From "History" off Made in the A.M. The ultimate phrase that describes the partnership between the guys and the fandom. We all did a ton of cool things by banding together in mutual support, and I'm pretty sure we at one point were one of the most, if not THE most, powerful fandom in pop culture.

5. "Does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes?"

From "Night Changes" off Four. Just look back from Up All Night through Made in the A.M. That all happened over the span of five years. So many of us grew up with these guys; isn't it crazy to look back and see that you've grown up right alongside them?

6. "You're the rays on the waves that calm my mind."

From "Fools Gold" off Four. Everyone needs someone or something to ground them when they're anxious. For a lot of people, this was 1D.

7. "When the night is coming down on you we will find a way through the dark."

From "Through the Dark" off Midnight Memories. There's always hope or a breakthrough ahead of you, even in dark times. Notice use of the word "we." 1D helped a lot of their fans through their darkest days.

8. "Though I try to get you out of my head, the truth is I got lost without you."

From "Half A Heart" off Midnight Memories. I always thought these lyrics just sounded so nice. These lyrics are about having that one person who grounds and guides you. Instagram caption, anyone?

9. "Is it so wrong that you make me strong?"

From "Strong" off Midnight Memories. Pretty much describes the way the entire fandom feels about 1D. This goes back to saying that this band has helped so many of its fans through rough waters, and vice versa.

10. "If you ever feel alone, don't. You are never on your own."

From "Don't Forget Where You Belong" off Midnight Memories. Cliche, but true. No matter how lonely you feel in this world, there is ALWAYS someone who cares, someone who loves you, and someone who is willing to be there for you.

11. "Nothing can come between you & I."

From "You & I" off Midnight Memories. NOT EVEN A HIATUS. Niall, Harry, Liam, Louis and Zayn (yes, AND Zayn) are permanently stuck with me as a fan of each of them. I didn't join this fandom five and a half years ago and invest so much time and energy--and funds--in it to quit it.

12. "Wish I could freeze this moment in a frame and stay like this, I'll put this day back on replay and keep reliving it."

From "Truly Madly Deeply" off Take Me Home. This is me after every 1D concert I've been to. We all know the feeling of seeing the lights go down and the intro video start playing before the show, or the streamers shooting out and the fireworks launching at the end of each show. It's the best feeling ever.

13. "They don't know how special you are, they don't know what you've done to my heart."

From "They Don't Know About Us" off Take Me Home. Let's talk for a second about how underappreciated TDKAU is?? This song is my LIFE and I'm still bitter they never played it live. These, in my opinion, are the best 1D lyrics ever written. Describes how I feel personally about these boys.

14. "Midnight doesn't last forever, dark turns to light."

From "Irresistible" off Take Me Home. Another reminder to never lose hope, as there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. As Louis says in his song with Steve Aoki, just hold on.

15. "If we could only have this life for one more day, if we could only turn back time."

From "Moments" off Up All Night. Are you nostalgic yet? Looking back over the last seven years of 1D, is there a time you wish you could turn back to? If I could experience another Where We Are show, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

16. "Can we fall, one more time? Stop the tape and rewind."

From "Gotta Be You" off Up All Night. Again, sums up the last seven years of this fandom existing. It's fun to look back and smile on all the good times we've had and the memories and friends made. But, here's to the next seven years!

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

Christmas tree

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
