I was incredibly excited for Fuller House to air on Netflix. I cleared my schedule and made it my priority to watch it over the weekend. It was everything I had hoped for and more. As a kid I had loved Full House and I was excited to see the cast take on new (and modern) problems. I will admit I cried like a baby during the first episode- and again when they played DJ and Steve's first "I love You." It wasn't a sad cry, it was a refreshing cry. Here is a list of 12 nostalgia inducing moments from the show.
1. Realizing Nicky and Alex were in college- like you.
Jesse and Becky's twins were no longer the little trouble makers they once were. Now they were college bound, surfing, future taco truck owners. They made frequent references to asking their parents for money and the cost of college.
2. "How rude"
This was Stephanie Tanner's most famous lines- and one of the many catch-phrases from the show. It's return was highly anticipated.
3. We find Steve in the fridge
DJ's long term boyfriend, Steve spent a lot of time at the Tanner house. One of Steve's favorite locations was the refrigerator, scanning for whatever food he could find- it is even where they showed him during the opening credits. 20 Twenty years later we find him raiding the same location.
4. Comet Jr. Jr.
How could they forget the loyal family dog? A spin-off series without our favorite furry friend would not be complete. They keep his legacy alive with Max's dog Cosmo.
5. The group hug
Another signature of Full House was the hugging. DJ tells her son Jackson, "We used to hug it out every day in the '80s". Which was very true. Was it really an episode of Full House without hugging it out after a life lesson.
6. Kimmy Gibbler's (unannounced) entrance
Next door neighbor and best friend Kimmy Gibbler let herself into the Tanner house unannounced. 20 years later and she still has not learned how to knock.
Alright- maybe there was the occasional knock.
7. The Flintstone's lullaby
This is when the waterworks really kicked in for me. DJ's kids Jackson, Max, and Tommy are the same ages that DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle were during the show. The new family worked together to calm Tommy while the screen split to show the original cast calming Michelle.
8. Mr. Woodchuck
Of course our favorite puppet had to make a return, but he is still pretty creepy.
9. Cut. It. Out.
Another highly anticipated catch phrase. Nothing says 90's like hand gestures.
10. The cheesey background music
In order for the full dramatic effect of what ever life lesson that episode of Full House focused on, there had to be some sort of violin music playing. Again this is another thing that is referenced in Fuller House. "We used to hug it out every day in the '80s; sometimes it was so sweet, you could hear violin music."
11. The theme song and Intro
"Whatever happened to predictability..." well nothing because the Fuller House theme song is still the same. The opening credits for Fuller House also feature clips from the original full house intro.
12. Forever
A hit song in Japan is still a classic today. Uncle Jesse sining this song to Becky definitely made us all swoon.
