20 Ways You Know You're A HGTV Junkie

HGTV. Four letters, so much meaning. HGTV stands for Home and Garden TV. But for us HGTV junkies (those who watch daily, or never switch channels), these four letters have so much more meaning. So, here’s to wood-floors, open-concepts, marble countertops and spa-like bathrooms!

20 Ways You Know You’re an HGTV Junkie (as told by one):

1. You watch every show. There literally isn’t one you won’t watch, and when someone asks you your favorite, you honestly can’t tell them.

2. BUT, if you absolutely had to choose, it’d definitely be "Fixer Upper." Chip and Joanna Gaines are just #relationshipgoals.

3. Oh, and you literally want EVERY single house that they fix. Joanna is AMAZING. But you know it will probably never happen, so you just pin everything and hope that someday your house will look like that.

4. HGTV is your default channel, your "default browser." It's literally on 24/7 and you never really need to change the channel. It even makes good background noise.

5. And if someone dares ask you if they can channel -- wait, there's other channels?!

6. And even when you're not near the TV, you've always got HGTV Magazine nearby, ready to keep you company.

7. That way, you can tab all the pages of what you love, and get serious #inspo for your future home.

8. These words have whole new meanings for you: "hardwood," "marble," "open-concept," "move-in-ready," "flow," and "office-space," They're basically a regular part of your vocabulary now.

9. That bathroom! The closet! And don't even get me started on the kitchen...I NEED ALL OF IT.

10. Hardwood floors? Check. (Mainly so you can do this).

11. A tub you can soak in? Absolutely. (Does Richard Gere come with it?!)

12. Immaculate kitchen complete with marble/granite/quartz countertops?! For sure.

13. Hoping it looks something like this...

14. OK, back to the shows.

15. "House Hunters" makes you want to move. Especially "House Hunters International"...

16. You have this reaction when you see the houses on "Flip or Flop" for the first time before they've been "flipped." (And the prices of the houses, ouch!)

17. David and Hillarey, and Todd and Jillian bickering make you want to pull your hair out. But you love them anyway and are secretly rooting for one of them to win.

18. You can tell Drew and Jonathan Scott apart from one another, no problem. They're basically your brothers too...

19. You're constantly coming up with new ideas for re-decorating or re-arranging everything in your home/apartment/dorm and you can't stop.

20. Nope, never.

You know why? Because my name is Katie and I'm an HGTV junkie, and probably always will be.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
