10 Signs You're From The Quad Cities

No matter where life takes you, here are ten sure signs that the Quad Cities will always be your first home.

1. If this picture makes your face light up:

With a wide range of flavors, it's true that Whitey's is the best ice cream ever and not racial slang.

2. You know exactly where this picture is:

It's where you learned how to spell your first long word (M-i-s-s-i-s-s-i-p-p-i) and it's where you might've started yelling at other drivers to go back to Illinois, but you never call take the time to call it the Mississippi River. It's just "the river."

3. You are also used to this happening:

...and spending your gym class sandbagging.

4. You are also a master at taking awesome sunset pictures:

Not like it's hard when you live in the QC.

5. You have mastered your way around one way streets on both sides of the bridge:

6. You've spent many summer days watching the River Bandits play some ball:

And of course riding the ferris wheel.

7. And when summer came to an end, you've spent many Friday nights under these lights cheering on your boys:

8. You've been here at least once:

Especially if you were in any kind of of performing arts activity -- then you ended up practically living here.

9. Watching people run for 7 miles every July is tradition:

And if you're crazy enough, you're actually one of the people running

10. Afterwards, celebrate with beer and deep frying anything and everything:

Because that's how we roll here

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
