  • Having to constantly explain where exactly your hometown is, and debating whether or not to say the name of your small town or the nearest city
  • Clarifying that you are not near Disney World
  • There is no Whataburger up here
  • Numerous people do not know what the item in number 4 is
  • You are potentially the only fan of your favorite Florida sports teams
  • When said favorite sports team plays a team in the state of your college, and losing is not fun
  • Days off due to winter weather is not a guarantee
  • Purchasing thermal underwear and other winter apparel
  • Finding out what this season called “Fall” is
  • Florida man and the other weird stuff that goes on in Florida
  • Becoming instant best friends with a fellow Floridian
  • Getting overexcited when your state comes up in a conversation
  • Giving out advice to your fellow students when they come down to Florida to go to the beaches
  • Conversing with people who have been to your town before, though it was several years ago
