School is out and the weather is warming up. You may have a part-time job, an internship or you might be stuck taking summer classes. However, it's so important to make time to explore the beautiful state of North Carolina and create memories. It's more than just traveling to the beach or mountains for a weekend getaway. It's the little things that matter--the wine tours, the beach music festivals, the local entertainment. North Carolina is a state in which to be proud of but you have to experience these adventures in order to appreciate it.
In case you don't have a summer bucket list, feel free to steal mine:
1. Climb Chimney Rock and take a kayak tour around Lake Lure.
2. Take a tour of the USS North Carolina Battleship and dine at the Wilmington Riverwalk.
3. Experience Asheville Beer Week (May 22-30) featuring beer tastings, festival music, dinners and more!
4. Visit the Safe Haven exhibit in Southport and experience the Fourth of July Festival.
5. Slide down the most popular natural water slide in North Carolina, Sliding Rock.
6. Take a walk through Orton Plantation in Wilmington--one of the most breathtaking places you will see.
7. Hike three miles to see the view from Looking Glass Rock.
8. Ride the Fury 325, world's tallest Giga coaster in the world, at Carowinds Amusement Park.
