Normani has been anything but absent in the music industry after Fifth Harmony's hiatus. With a successful feature on hit 'Love Lies' by Khalid and an undeniable social media presence, Normani continues to excite fans with news related to her upcoming music. The 22-year-old singer has now released a collaboration with electronic DJ and producer Calvin Harris.
These new tracks, 'Checklist' and 'Slow Down' came out on Oct. 22 and fans of Normani have already reacted in ways that are taking over social media.
It became clear in June of 2018 that Harris and Normani were working on something together and fans have been wanting to hear it ever since. After the success of the Scottish DJ's latest hits, including 'One Kiss' with Dua Lipa and 'Promises' ft. Sam Smith, many are anticipating these songs will be taking over both the radio and charts.
Normani took to Twitter to officially announce the collaboration and the date set for its release just a few days before the project's release.
The now 'Checklist' singer has established a successful start to her solo career after the release of 'Love Lies' and with this new collaboration, she is now taking the next step many have been waiting for. It is clear that her versatility within the music she has worked on in the past is quite impressive and this project only adds to that. Normani took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the release of this two-song project by saying: "thank you so much to the genius @calvinharris and to the magic behind these fyeee records."
'Checklist' features Wizkid and has an undeniable rhythm to it that many have expressed their obsession with already via Twitter and other social media. 'Slow Down' is a bit more groovy and features Normani's powerful vocals.
The hashtag #NormaniXCalvinHarris has been widely used across Twitter and Instagram as fans are desperate to share their reactions and opinions of these new tracks. The hashtag is trending both in the United States and Worldwide.
Both songs are on the U.S. R&B charts and available for streaming and purchase.
