Many people, especially those in other states, do not understand the variations between NorCal and SoCal. For those that are not aware, NorCal is Northern California and SoCal is Southern California. There are many differences from the way we speak to the things we believe; there exists incredible differences between the two.
NorCal
In Northern California, you are probably living in the country or in a small town surrounded by fields. You would probably say things like “hella” or “hecka," if you are trying not to cuss. Most of them believe that Sacramento is considered part of SoCal, but I don't think they know just how big California is. Their attire is normally miss me’s if you're a girl and the classic Wranglers or Levi’s if you are a guy. If you are a girl, you really like bejeweled clothing, whether it be pants, a T-shirt, or a purse. A guy, for example, would wear an average T-shirt with jeans and cowboy boots. In this area, things are 180 degrees different from SoCal.
SoCal
Southern California is a completely different story, though, you are most likely living on the beach or near it. Most of the time it’s a big city or near a big city like LA or San Diego. You have most likely never heard of the words “hella” or “hecka.” Sacramento is most definitely considered NorCal or in that region. Clothing choices are completely different from those in NorCal, since you are not normally around farm animals, you do not need to wear jeans or cowboy boots.
If you are a girl, you most likely wear crop tops, shorts, and sandals, because it is warm enough to wear. If you are a guy, you might wear Sperry’s, shorts, and T-shirts or button-ups. I would like to make it clear that this is not the attire of every individual, but rather this is a generalization.
