Non-Traditional Holiday Songs

If you're like me, you dread getting into your car and shopping the department stores because you know the standard Christmas songs are being played on loop and we've all heard them too many times to count. Every year, I make a Holiday CD to listen to on my commutes, yes I still listen to CDs in my car, take that and shove it in your auxiliary port, or to stream through my headphones while I shop. Of course some of the songs that I add are merely covers of classics, it's still better than the same old same old.

This year, I decided to share my playlist. Here are a few songs to add to your Holiday mix this year, ranging from Sufjan Stevens to Bright Eyes, take a listen and Happy Holidays!

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here.
