13 Non-Scary Movies To Get You In The Mood For Halloween

If you're anything like me, you love Halloween but don't like movies that make you jump every two seconds. I've created the perfect list for those who want to get in the spirit of the holiday but without all of the scares.

1. The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Is it a Christmas movie or is it a Halloween movie? The world may never know.

2. Ghostbusters series.

This isn't really a scary series, but it may have a few jump scares! Nothing too scary.

3. Goosebumps (The Movie).

This is an adventurous movie based on made-up creatures from stories. Sounds like Halloween right?

4. Hocus Pocus.

This is a classic, enough said.

5. Casper.

He's a friendly ghost...

6. Halloweentown

This is a true classic that you will not want to skip!

7. Rocky Horror Picture Show

It's a bit out there that's for sure, but it has good music.

8. Twitches

This is a cute and feel-good Halloween (or anytime) movie.

9. Children Of The Corn

This is supposed to be a scary movie but it is pretty laughable. If you can watch the above clip you can watch the whole film.

10. BeetleJuice

Another strange movie to add to the halloween watch list! This movie is very comedy based.

11. It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Really, who is afraid of Charlie Brown?

12. Coraline

Buttons for eyes?

13. Edward Scissorhands

Edward Scissorhands is comparable to Beetlejuice, however, this movie has more of a comedy base.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
