Oh yes. The "Adult" life. Being on our own and not having are parents to constantly rely on. You might think you are ready...but you're not. Here are just a few things you have to learn to do on oyur own once you become an adult.

1. Cooking.

You are a gourme chef when it comes to making some easy mac or ramen noodles but now that you adult you try the whole real dinner thing. You have all the ingredients but are realizing now that you have no idea how to make Lemon-Rosemary Chicken with ROasted Broccolini. So take out it is!

2. Payday.

You have been living off of roman and your roommates leaf overs because you sepent all your money at the club but its ok because it's PAYDAY! You celebrate as soon as you seen that deposite go through in your bank account and tell yourself you are going to budget right this time, but we all know that you are going to buy everyone at the bar a round of shots this weekend... again. Good thing you really like ramen.

3. Laundry.

There really is no "laundry day" for you its kiind of a game of chance. You just get out of the shower every morning fingers crossed you have one pair of clean under wear left until that day your three laundry baskets are being filled to the brim and you are smelling each piece of clothing to see if it is remotely cleanish.

4. Making Decisions.

You never realized how much you depended on your parents to make decisions until now. What should I eat for dinner?

5. Doing your taxes.

Taxes?.... What are taxes and how do I "do" them.

6. Cleaning.

Now that you are on your own you realize that your room won't clean its self and that you are a disgusting slob. You do not own a vaccume or any cleaning supplie for that matter.... so it looks like you are inviting you mom over this weekend. And if your mom isnt the kind to freak out at your mess and clean it for you then it's time to see how long you can live in your own filth!

7. Going to The Doctors.

Now, you to not only make your own doctors appoitments but you have to go to them alone too. This means when the doctor asks you is there is any medication you are allergic to you will not be able to look at your mom and wait for an answers. You also realize you know nothing about your families health history and basically the only question you know the answer to on that form you have to fill out is your name.

8. Fixing Things On Your Own.

You parents arent there to fix everything for you anymore so you learn to make do with what ya got. Here is an oppertunity tp get creative and do your first do it oyurself fix it job.... aka duck tape fixes everything.

9. When someone asks how you are doing on your own.

You think you are doing just fine on your own but then you realize how you actually such at adulating. But don't worry! It gets better! You just have to learn how to cook, clean, do taxes, make decisions, do laundry and budget your money and you will be just fine! GOOD LUCK!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
