No More Fear

No More Fear

My fingers glide

Across the keys

As words come to me.

They dance,

They play,

They come to life.

Words are so powerful.

Words can determine life and death,

Friendships,

Love,

And also hurt.

They are so powerful,

And we tend to not fully realize

The strength in them.

We take them for granted.

As they sing through the lyrics of your life,

It is important to always remember

That words really do change lives.

One simple word.

Love.

This very word

Flows life from it.

It creates bonds,

And it brings life.

The very giver of life

Calls himself love for us.

He's jealous for us.

Jealous for our affection,

Our time,

Our desires,

Our heart.

That's what He wants.

He cares about us.

He's not far off.

He gleams inside our very bones.

He is alive.

The King lives,

And He is passionately in love with us.

His love cascades over our hearts,

And it penetrates our being

Calling us His own

His sons and daughters.

Princes and Princesses

In His kingdom.

This ownership is expressed because of one word.

Love.

God loves us.

The love and passion of Jesus Christ is so vast that words can't do it justice. This poem, my words, could never express His love in entirety. For this is merely a glimpse of His great passion for us. It's devoted, and He is so in love with us that He died the most brutal death in our place. Thatpain, those nails, those thorns were because of us, and yet he took it in our stead. He was beaten so death would not hold us captive. He was crucified so that we may live. He conqered the grave so that all people could be free. He came and calls us sons and daughters so that we may become like Him and learn from Him. The Bible calls us to be different form the world for the sake of Christ, and that is true joy.

The Lord calls us to be like Him. He's not some distant God only here to punish and condemn. No. He's here because He loves us and wants to train and discipline us to go His amazing work. It is His life that matters, and not my own. It is because of Him that I can say I have life. It is because of Him that I can walk, breathe, think, eat, or anything else. He knows everything about us, and He is so in love with us.

Don't take His love for granted. We have grace here on Earth, but time here is temporary, and there are two roads; one that leads to eternal joy in the Lord's presence or eternal separation from Him in Hell. In Hell, there is no grace, no forgiveness, no beauty, no worth, but mere destruction. No one wants this as their fate, when Christ came to save, and he is a loving Father.

All you have to do is choose Him. Ask for forgiveness, and you can have a relationship with him too.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
