Let’s take a second and realize how united we are as a nation with music.

We live in a world with a ton of controversy, argument and debate. Where ever you have grown up, moved to or live now you experience difference in opinion everywhere. So, where do the similarities come in? Where in the world do we agree on anything? That my friends is music. When we look at music, we see talent, entertainment, relaxation, dancing, etc. We see others who have an interest in the same thing as us and most times there is no room for debate or opinion. Sure, someone can always disagree on any topic known to man, but music is a little different.

I do not consider myself an artist nor am I musically talented, but I have been exposed to music my whole life. Music my friends is what brings the world together in the most unique ways that some of us do not even realize.

Let us start with the example of a concert. A talented artist decides to host an event and sell tickets. When you think about it, everyone at that concert isn’t your friend, someone you know, or someone you might even consider being your friend, but the music and the interest in that type of music is what brought you together. Isn’t that kid of a twisted thing?

You could be standing next to someone who is the complete opposite of you, but you both share an opinion or interest in that type of singer or music. That is unity and what brings the world together.

Next is the example of Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, or whatever music source you use. Together we spend money or take interest in these forms of music to enjoy and share the same interest in the same music. We could be listening to the same song as someone who lives in China, Europe, Australia, etc. Do we share the same life, culture, or race even? Maybe not, but a simple song could tie us together.

Like I said above, I am not musically talented, but I do know some musicians and a few singers. What I get from their experiences is music is a beautiful thing that can be created from a single human. That you don’t need technology to create this interest, that it can come from your voice or from your own hands. One day I heard my roommate singing in her room and let me tell you it was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard. The music from her voice gave me a reason to connect with her and want to hear more. My boyfriend can play a few songs on the piano, sure he is not Mozart, but the music from his fingertips gave me an interest in music because of the sound.

For those of you who are into music, but also those of you who are like me and are into it, but more of the listeners, let’s take a second and realize how united we are as a nation with music. Music is what travels all around the world and seems to have no end. Music goes on and on and is what unites us as humans on this earth not matter the color of your skin, your sex or age.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
