As you grow older, the small minor things that once overwhelmed us with uncontrollable excitement as kids eventually fade. You grow up and life takes over and your rose colored glasses seem to have been misplaced. Then that time of year rolls around and the magic returns.
Christmas has the ability to let us see the enchantment of life again. It's not the presents or the Christmas lists, it’s the traditions and memories you made as a child that you are still able to hold on to. It’s the Christmas music, the lights, and the decorations that make you realize the magic of the holidays will never be forgotten.
There aren’t many times you get to fill your hunger for nostalgia, but Christmas is the one time you get to relive your past. There is a reason that everyone is a bit kinder, and bad days are few and far between. We are too preoccupied with the pureness of the older times.
One of the best parts is being able to share this with the ones you created the memories with from the start. You get to surround yourself with your friends and family, people that matter most. It’s the airport moment, whether you are the one getting picked up or you get to pick someone else up, the anticipation of seeing of them will never be fleeing.
However, what can be absconding at times is life in general. Life does not take its time, it doesn’t pause for your happy moments or stop when things aren’t going right. The holidays though, somehow make time stand still for a while, and brings every tradition and memory you have from the past to the present and assures you that you will have these moments in the future.
