When it comes to the current generation of gaming, there is no denying that Sony’s PlayStation 4 reigns king. Besides launching with the strongest hardware, the PlayStation has had one major asset that separated it from the competition. Exclusive Games. The best part is these exclusive games were almost all smash hits.
However, when you think of PlayStation 4 exclusives there is one game, in particular, that is always mentioned. This game being "No Man’s Sky."
"No Man’s Sky" is a space exploration game that allows gamers to explore an enormous galaxy made up of 14 quintillion planets. Each of these planets had its own unique plant and wildlife, which provided gamers with a new experience each time they landed. What really sold the game is that it was marketed with a heavy focus on the term Procedural Generation. No one really understands what the term means, but we wanted to experience it.
Well, "No Man’s Sky" didn’t turn out to be the game creator Sean Murry promised. The game was bland, and it was revealed that main objective to reach the center of the galaxy was anticlimactic. What made matters worse, two players managed to find the same planet and discovered that the game was not multiplayer. Instead, the developers made it seem that the game had multiplayer capabilities, but the universe was so vast that the odds of running into another player were slim.
Despite all of the backlash, Sean Murry continued to express his commitment to making the game better. First, there was a massive update that allowed gamers build and establish a home base in each planet system. The update also incorporated a vehicle that allowed gamers to travel the planets at a rapid pace. it is now being revealed that the next update will big an even bigger deal. Possible the most vital element the next update will have is multiplayer. That’s right, we will now be able to explore the 14-quintillion universe alongside our friends. However, it was also revealed that "No Man’s Sky" is being developed for the Xbox One, meaning that it will no longer be a PlayStation exclusive. Even though it will be on the Xbox One, odds are PlayStation will be the first console to get new content on a timed exclusive basis.
When the PlayStation first launched we began to see little snippets of "No Man’s Sky". We really couldn’t tell what the game was, but we were excited. While the game was a huge disappointment when it first launched, Sean Murry provided the confidence that allowed us to remain optimistic. When all seemed lost, Sean Murry and the "No Man’s Sky" team launched a massive update that revitalized the game as one of the most innovative games ever made. Now that it has been revealed that an even bigger, multiplayer-based update is in the works, there is no reason why "No Man’s Sky" shouldn’t be recorded as one of the most creative games in the history of gaming.
