Body shaming does nothing but bring people down.

Why We Need To Cut It Out With The Body Shaming

In this day in time, we are always worried about everyone else other than ourselves. We judge everyone else that is different than us because deep down inside, we find something intriguing about them and we feel we cannot be nice to one another.

Stop body shaming ‘bigger’ girls when they decide to work up the nerve to wear that two-piece bathing suit. They already feel like they are out of place, there is no need to keep staring at them and wondering why she is wearing it. Go over to her and tell her that she looks awesome and she is beautiful just the way that she is.

Stop body shaming the ‘skinny’ girls when they wear a bikini. No matter how you interpret ‘too skinny’ there is no need to judge someone that fits your criteria. There may be those girls who work out five days a week and cannot be anything but skinny. There are girls who have higher metabolisms, but that is no reason to judge them for it.

Stop body shaming the girls who are wearing the cheeky bikini bottoms. No, these bottoms are not for everyone. But there are some girls who love the way they look in them. We all have certain things that we wear that some people may not like but that does not mean we go and change. There is no point in shaming someone who feels good in what they are wearing.

Stop body shaming the guy that is a little bit bigger than you prefer. There is probably a girl out there who loves him for who he is and not for his looks. Some people are just born big.

Stop body shaming the guy who is ‘skin and bones’. There also is someone who loves him just the way he is. There is no point in shaming someone for something that they cannot control. Some people are just born smaller than others.

Stop body shaming the girls that are a different color than you. Everyone was made in their own special way and shaming them for how they were born, is ridiculous. We are all God's children and that means that we are all brothers and sisters. We need to love one another no matter what color.

In our world, we are always focused on finding something negative about someone. Every time you go to say something negative about someone's image, change it and think about something positive. You don’t have to say this positive thing to them, but knowing that there is one less person out there body shaming, makes the world a better place. God made us all how He wanted us to be, and we need appreciate every beautiful creature He has made.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
