Kalamazoo has so many things to offer, especially being a college town, take some time and look around.

Kalamazoo is a great place to find some cheap things to do, located in the heart is Western Michigan University, home of the Broncos. Yes, some of these to do here in Kalamazoo may be near other college campuses as well, but nothing beats the spirit of Western Michigan Broncos. Here are the ten things you should do while in Kalamazoo (some may vary by time of year).

1. Go to the Den Party Store located on Howard Street right off of WMU's campus and buy a den pop. Essentially, it is a 32 oz (70 cents) and 44 oz (85 cents) of your own mixtures of pop for under a dollar. There are "famous" mixtures, which other people created which can be non-alcoholic or alcoholic, where you leave room in your cup and add your choice of alcohol later.

2. Go across the street from the Den Party Store to Two Fellas and buy a wrap, personally I love the Bronco but a ton of my sorority sisters enjoy the first item on the menu, also get a side of mac bites because why not. The wraps are to die for.

3. Stop by the Spirit Shoppe and stock up on your Bronco gear before heading to any kind of Western event. They are located on West Michigan Avenue about a mile and a half off Western's campus.

4. Head over to Waldo stadium! On November 19, College Game Day came to campus and did a live broadcast the game again Buffalo. Right now Broncos are 11-0, ROW THE BOAT!

5. Go to Sweetwaters, which is open 24 hours a day so if you're feeling a late night snack, head there. Get do a donut or two, or twelve, no judgement here.

6. If you love the arts, the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is amazing, where local artists are given the opportunity to show off their artwork in downtown Kalamazoo art museum.

7. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is also located downtown, where they show current movies and serve you food and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) as well as your normal movie theater pop corn during the movie.

8. Stop by Miller Auditorium (right by the fountain on campus)to see a play, or if you're lucky maybe you'll be able to see a band or comedian. Last year Panic! At the Disco and Dave Coulier both came to Miller Auditorium, put on by Campus Activities Board (CAB).

9. In the fall, the closest apple orchard around is Gull Meadows farm, it's a little bit outside of Kalamazoo (about 20 minutes from Western's campus) but definitely worth the drive, there are so many things to do there besides buying apples, donuts, and cider, you can find your way through a corn maze, see all the farm animals at their petting zoo, go on wagon rides, play a huge version of corn hole, and did you really go to an apple orchard if you didn't take a picture on the gigantic chair?

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
