How people treat you is how they feel about you.

There are people who will treat you like you walk on water, and there are people who will treat you like you're the dirt they walk on. You have the choice as to whom you let stay in your life.

You can't change people.

There are only so many times you make excuses for people before you have to just realize they may not care. This doesn't make them a bad person, just not a person you need to put your energy into.

Never apologize for your feelings.

You have the right to feel happy, upset, disappointed, anything. Don't let anyone tell you your feelings don't matter, or you're over-reacting.

It's okay to be bored.

I'm a person who wants to be around people and doing something all day, but sometimes it's okay to take a step back and spend time alone. Go to a movie, read a book or take a walk. Remind yourself of your dreams and that you are capable of getting there without all those people around.

God is capable of amazing things.

The power of prayer is incredible and the miracles of God are even moreso. He gives you what He knows you can handle and will bring you up when you least expect it, so always walk by faith.

Work hard and enjoy the ride.

No one wants to go into work everyday, but if you make your time there worthwhile and enjoy the people you're with it makes it much better. Work hard, stay humble and never stop striving to be better.

Appreciate those around you.

You were blessed enough to wake up this morning and spend another day with those you love. You never know when either of you could lose that, so cherish the times with those around you. Tell them you love them. Don’t hold things in and always be thankful.

Don't hold grudges.

Holding that anger is like holding hot coal with the plan to throw it at someone else; you're the only one who gets burned. So forgive, forget and move on. Allowing someone to keep you angry only wastes perfect happiness.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
