Nine Reasons To Love Fall

For many people, saying goodbye to summer is hard because of the warm weather and vacations. But, with the arrival of autumn, comes it's many perks. I hope these nine reasons help you to fall in love with fall, just as I did!

1. Exclusive Seasonal Flavors

Whether you consider it "basic" or not, I think many will agree, that pumpkin spice coffee and lattes is worth the wait at your local Dunkin' Donuts. Not to mention all the apple flavored sweets, such as apple pie, apple crisp, apple fritters, apple cider; the list is endless! Do your taste buds a favor, and take advantage of the various seasonal treats that may only be here for a limited time.

2. Cozy Fashion

I get it, the temperature shift that comes with autumn puts a total damper to your summer fever. You may not be able to sport your fav denim shorts any longer, but luckily fall attire isn't as heavy as the many dreadful winter layers. Instead, you can fashion some trendy leg warmers, boots, light jackets, and scarfs.

3. Autumn Activities

As autumn finally rolls around, you and your friends no longer have to complain about how, "there's nothing fun to do." There are countless fairs and festivals that exhibit the true essence of the fall season. Food trucks and stands, carnival rides, and special activities and events take place, allowing you to be able to experience the true essence of the fall season. Don't forget the pumpkin picking, apple picking, corn mazes, hay rides, and seasonal markets where you can find various pies and other sweets! Last, but not least, if feeling brave and fearless, be sure to check out a haunted house, or a graveyard, for a spook, to get you into the Halloween spirit.

4. Halloween Festivities

Although Halloween may not be everyone's favorite holiday, It's definitely one of the most fun and youthful. There are few occasions where you can dress up as anything you want, as well as have fun and get candy while doing it. Odds are, you'll be invited to at least one Halloween themed party or get together. They are a great opportunity for you to get in touch with your creative side. Don't forget to carve a pumpkin to light up your front step.

5. Fall Sports

Football season is back! Soccer, Cross Country, Swimming, Field Hockey, Volleyball, and Golf too! Grab your buddies, a blanket, some hot cocoa, and attend a football match or other games. High school and College games are affordable, and full of enthusiastic, and spirited fans! Don't hesitate to be active! Autumn is a great season to run road race, because the heat subsides and the air is cool.

6. Beautiful Scenery

You can't beat the beauty of the trees changing colors, and the falling leaves decorating the earth. Summer is not the only season for beach trips. The beaches are also gorgeous in the fall, and a great place to take a long walk and take in the beauty of nature. Your town will probably be dressed up with mums, corn stalk, scare crows, pumpkins, and haystacks.

7. Thanksgiving

Valuable family time. Delicious comforting food. Warm fires ... great opportunities to make lasting memories, and give thanks. All you need, for a good life.

8. Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This year, it starts on Thursday, October 1, and ends on Saturday, October 21. There are various campaigns to promote awareness for the disease. A lot of woman contribute to this awareness by getting a pink hair extension during October.

9. New School Year

Although many of you will see this as a down fall, don't be too quick to judge. The start of a new school year for students, meaning you'll be able to see your friends everyday, have the opportunity to make new friends, get involved in a sport or club, etc. It is a great time to change things up, and/or start something new. And if those still don't do it for you, a new school year means you're one year closer to graduating!

So, go on, buy your pumpkin spice latte in your cozy fall attire, and enjoy all the season has to offer before winter comes around. Who knows, you could end up falling in love with it!

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
