A Power Ranking Of The Best Thanksgiving Leftovers
The Original Thanksgiving

Every year your family plans out Thanksgiving to a T. Everybody brings something different, yet always delicious. So, after the big ‘ole turkey day, there are plenty of leftovers if your family is anything like mine. I mean, I am almost positive we all make way more than enough so everybody gets to take home AT LEAST one plate. So, here are the nine best Thanksgiving leftovers:

1.Turkey

The winner of the dinner in more ways than one. Leftover turkey has so many purposes. You can make sandwiches, new plates, casseroles, the possibilities are endless, so that’s why it has taken the number one spot.

2. Ham

The other big protein at the dinner table deserves the second spot because you have all of the same possibilities as you do with turkey, but I mean com on. Ham cannot come first on the turkey holiday, it would just be wrong is so many ways.

3. Mac ’n Cheese

One could not possibly ever get tired of cheesy noodle goodness. It Is just one of those foods that make you feel all warm and cozy inside, plus it freezes pretty well just in case you need to save it for a little bit longer for a bad day during finals week.

4. Mashed Potatoes

Again, the things you can do with mashed potatoes are endless. You can do pretty much anything you dream of with mashed potatoes. Whether you like them covered in gravy or fully loaded with butter bacon and cheese, you cannot enjoy their creamy goodness.

5. Rolls

It’s bread. Need I say more?

6. Dressing

The flavor combination on this is unbelievable! Somehow someway, one of our ancestors thought of this lovely idea and man, I am thankful for them. Not only does it taste great the day of, it is almost like it gets better after sitting for a couple of days. It is also another dish that freezes nicely and will hold itself until you need it during those dreaded finals.

7. Green Beans

Now, they may not freeze like their fellow leftovers, but man, eat them while you can. It doesn’t matter if they are fresh or in a casserole, there is just something about them that you cannot say no to.

8. Broccoli Casserole

Broccoli. Cheese. Creamy. Rice. There is enough in this one dish alone to fill you up, so why not indulge in some more.

9. Dessert

You may not be able to fit it in your stomach the day of, but no worries, they hold for a couple of days, and for those couple of days, it is OK to throw that diet out of the window and enjoy their sugary goodness.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
