Why Nightwing Is The Most Underrated Hero

Why Nightwing Is The Most Underrated Hero

If you asked anybody to name three superheroes off the top of their head, they're almost bound to say unanimously "Superman, Batman, and Spiderman." These are the three most well known heroes of the bunch with tons of pop culture for the world to know them by, but what about those ones that do so much for so little recognition? There's the lower end of the totem pole guys that are below those three: Green Arrow, Flash, Aquaman, Captain America, Iron man, and Hulk. But there are many that are so little known that you can ask anybody if they know who they are and you'll get all "no's."

Almost everybody knows of the character Robin, the "boy wonder" that is sidekick to the caped crusader of Batman mentioned earlier, but almost nobody knows the man that boy grew up into being of "Nightwing".

Dick Grayson, at age 9, was put under the wing of his semi-adoptive father Bruce Wayne (he was Wayne's orphan ward until he adopted him much later) and went onto be Robin, but after being sidekick to Batman and leader of the Teen Titans for many years and still not exactly getting the support of his role model and adoptive father after being an exceptional leader of the Teen Titans, He realized it was time to move on from the Teen Titans and from Batman and start his own life. After talking to Superman, he decided to go onto be his own vigilante in the town of "Bludhaven" (mentioned in the show "Arrow" quite a bit if you've ever watched it) and took the name "Nightwing".

Now almost no casual fan knows of Nightwing and basically no casual fan knows of his accomplishments that would make me say he is an underrated hero, but just for reference his track record includes leading the Teen Titans as Robin, a sword fight with Ra's Al Ghul (Batman's teacher) to a stand still, being in teams of "the Teen Titans, the Outsiders, the New Titans, and the Justice League", holding the mantle of the Batman at a point while Bruce recovered from a broken back, and being the best acrobatic in all of the DC comic universe after growing up in a circus family. He also has excellent hand to hand combat skills, hacking skills, and detective skills that he has all learned from the Dark Knight himself. Plus, just for good measure he is #1 on the top 50 list of most handsome comic book men by Comicsalliance.

Yet despite all this, he is barely known, he has never been played in a live action film, never in a live action television series, and the only well known cartoon series he has ever been in was one episode in the "Teen Titans" where they go to the future. After all this, you could clearly say he deserves more than what he gets and I sure hope he gets it soon even if I have to be the one to pay my favorite/second favorite hero his due.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
