Night Thoughts

When I feel most alive.

I love the nighttime. Everything is a black silhouette against the grey sky, and it is so peaceful. There are no loud horns or people talking, just the sounds of crickets chirping. I feel calm and everything around me is in a monochromatic shade of black. I can see people walking in the distance but just the shadowed outline of their bodies. There is no judging because no one can really see what you look like in the darkness; they just know your personality, which is the truest form of yourself. I play calm music and drive down the long, bare roads at the time when everyone around me is asleep. I feel like myself. You end up having to use your imagination on deciding the colors around you, which can often lead to you having a more open mind. Some people hate the darkness and are afraid, but I find it peaceful. You may say I'm crazy and that darkness is for sulking, but for me it's the time where I'm most alive. My dreams become more vivid as my imagination runs freely, because there is no fear of being judged in the shadows. I'm in love with stars, so when the night falls I am in an instant happy state of mind. I am surrounded by constellations and trees, the fresh air filling my lungs. It is where I want to be until the sun comes up and another day of work is ahead of me.

And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
