It is crazy to me that you have not a care in the world and in a few short years, you will start becoming the person you were meant to be.

Dear My Niece,

Hey you! Right now you are sitting next to me eating pancakes looking cute as ever. I can't help but think that some point in time you will be my age, thinking about life choices, making hard decisions, and just trying to find your way in this world. Right now your biggest concern is eating, pooping, and watching Barney. It is crazy to me that you have not a care in the world and in a few short years, you will start becoming the person you were meant to be.

You talk, but small words & I can not wait for the day you and me can have a full on conversation about the boy you like or the friend that is giving you a difficult time. I can not wait to be your helping hand, your advice giver, and the coolest aunt on the planet. You are a special little girl and you make me laugh like crazy. I know we are going to have a great relationship because you are literally just like me.

I see you growing up whenever I see you and it honestly scares me. I can remember clearly the day you were born. It was one of the best days of my life because someone came into my life that I will always be there for. You can always count on me to be with you through it all. As I am writing this, you are sticking out your tongue at me laughing because you think it is absolutely hilarious. I live for these moments because later on, you won't think everything is funny anymore (not to put a damper on things, but it is true.)

If something happens in your life that you feel is going to have your world come crashing down, do not be afraid to come to your aunt. I will always be there for you no matter what. I am there to be your shoulder to cry on, your protector, and the one that can give you candy even when your mom says no. I just want you to know that when you get older, you are going to face obstacles that are going to be harder than you can imagine. I know you will be able to get through it. You are such a tough cookie, you are sassy, and you are definitely something else.

I hope you continue to be this carefree girl with a little bit of sassiness because you are beautiful girl! You deserve nothing but the best in this world. Have memories to last a lifetime, be yourself, and do not let anyone take you for granted. Trust me, it is not worth it. You can always come to me with anything and everything. I went through it all, so I can help you with any issues you face during your journey of growing up.

I hope that when you are my age, you can read this letter and know that everything will be okay. Just remember you have a family that loves you and supports you through everything. I love you so much and so does everyone else.

Good luck!

Love, Auntie Nina

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?
