So the new Bachelor for next season has been announced and it is the one and only Nick Viall. As I watched After Paradise where Michelle Collins and Sean Lowe welcomed the Bachelorette alum as the next Bachelor, I was completely surprised. I was expecting Luke Pell to show up on my screen, maybe even Chase, or my personal favorite James Taylor but when Nick walked out I'm sure the law-dropping look I had on my face was similar to the rest of America watching. My surprise was quickly overtaken by joy as I became extremely excited for Nick to grace my TV screen next season. It has been quite a while since Bachelor producers have not chosen a Bachelor from the previous season of The Bachelorette, but here are just a few reasons why the producers were spot on with their decision:

1. He is older and more mature.

Viall is 35 and therefore is one of the oldest Bachelors we've seen in a while. But his age only makes us like him more. The way he carries himself shows that he is more mature, and most definitely wiser than past contestants. Because of this, Viall hopefully allow for us to get to know some equally mature contestants instead of girls fresh out of college looking for their fifteen minutes of fame. Having the show star someone with his maturity will definitely be refreshing.

2. He has a real job.

Nick is a software sales executive and I don't know about you, but that sounds a lot better than "Hipster" or "Bartender" or "Former Pro Athlete."

3. He is the most deserving.

Nick Viall is most famous for being the runner up on The Bachelroette not once, but twice. They say the third time is the charm but Nick is on this season of Bachelor in Paradise and given his recent announcement, he has not found love their either. Because of his lack of luck in the love department, it's clear he's the most deserving of finding love as the new Bachelor.

4. He is genuine.

The whole "here for the right reasons" line is quite overused by the bachelor franchise if I do say so myself, but if anyone was here for the right reasons, it's Nick. Most people will say that the contestants on the show are just looking for fame, but Nick's attempts at finding love and the way he is carrying himself on Bachelor in Paradise prove otherwise. He has questioned Josh's intentions with Amanda, told Ashley I that she was lusting after Jared and not "in love" with him, and told the twins in a sincere way how he felt about Josh and Amanda. Surprisingly, he is the most level-headed of all the cast members this season.

5. He's nice to look at.

His Instagram photos speak for themselves. And a whole season of seeing him (hopefully shirtless) would not be bad at all.

6. He's a comeback story.

Nick Viall was seen as a villain after Andi's season and even during Kaitlyn's season. But he has had a pretty good run on Bachelor in Paradise as a genuine friend to most of the contestants, constantly giving advice, and proving to America that all he wants to do is find love. Choosing to pick Nick was definitely a bold move by Bachelor Nation as it's sure to receive some criticism. But being able to watch Nick slowly redeem himself has been a pleasure to watch. And who doesn't love a good comeback story?

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
