Nick Miller Moments That Define Our LIves

If you watch New Girl, you know Nick Miller. The grumpy, lazy, former law student-turned-bartender has many levels to him that we all have come to love. He has this tough exterior, but a hidden sensitive side. Not to mention his awkwardness and weirdness that we all can relate to. He has come to become my favorite character on TV because of these things and his ability to keep us laughing throughout the show. Here are some particularly relatable Nick Miller moments.

1. When you're not as tough after a breakup as you want to seem:

2. When you feel like you grew up in the wrong time period:

3. When a new friend isn't all that you expect them to be:

4. When you don't feel classy enough for the place you're eating at:

5. When you're sad and start pondering life's questions:

6. When you know you messed up, but you accept it:

7. When you need to get out of an awkward conversation:

8. When you have a weird feeling about your friend's new friend:

9. When you decide you are done with relationships:

10. When you have a life-changing revelation:

11. When you meet that friend you can share all your weird secrets with:

12. When the doctor asks you about your diet and exercise regimen:

13. When your friend is sad but you don't know how to cheer them up:

14. When you are trying to convince yourself that being lazy is okay:

15. When you are confident about asking someone out, but turn awkward as soon as you see them:

16. When you get someone a gift but they don't respond like you thought they would:

17. When you finally accept your life as it is:

18. When you haven't done laundry, and you're not ashamed about it:

Nick seems like a bit of a mess. But a funny, cute mess that we all can relate to. We all have some of his weirdness in us. He teaches us that we don't have to have everything together to function, though we all should want to be a little more put together than Nick by the time we are thirty. Thanks Nick Miller for the laughs, the relat-ability and the lessons learned.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
