An introduction and a summary.

Hello, Its Nice To Be Here
Sarah G. Hays (me)

If you haven’t heard, I’m the new kid on the blog. This is my third post with Odyssey and you might be wondering, “Who is this person?” Since I haven’t introduced myself to you yet, I’ll do my best to let you know a little bit about me.

Hi, I’m Sarah. My friends call me Sarah Grace. Born and raised in the humble state of Arkansas (the Northwest corner, to be exact). I’m a senior mass communications major at Ouachita Baptist University. No, I do not know what I’ll be doing after I graduate, but thanks for asking. I hope to get a job in my field of study and I’m considering the possibility of graduate school. As for what I would study for my Master’s degree, I have not decided. I have so many ideas for post-grad life and there are so many possibilities. One of which is not marriage. I’m single and there are no current developments in that department (again, thanks for asking). I have a red SUV named Ruby and we’ve been great pals for two and a half years now. A few things I like and enjoy are photography, basketball, reading, shopping, and coffee. I like movies, too. And Mexican food. , And most importantly, I am a child of the One True King, born again at 14 years old on July 7, 2009.

Those are the basic background elements about my life. Some interesting (and perhaps little-known) facts about me would be are listed below.

1. I want to learn calligraphy.

It’s so cool and so pretty! I actually considered studying graphic design whenever I looked at colleges back in the day. I’m glad it’s somewhat related to what I study. Even if it wasn’t, I think that I’d still be interested in it.

2. I’ve not traveled west further than Oklahoma City.

This is true. Although, I’m not sure why. I mean, there’s so much out there. Like Colorado, California, and Alaska. I’ve heard that Phoenix is pretty cool, too. They’re all just so far away. Any popular attractions that I should know about way out west? Let me know in the comments.

3. I’ve never been to the East Coast.

Just like the Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything, “And I’ve never been to Boston in the fall.” y of the rich historic atmosphere in those areas. New York has recently been added to my travel list. It’s mainly because there’s a new Broadway musical based on my favorite childhood movie, but there are lots of other cool things I could find to do.

4. I’m a transfer student.

The first year and a half of my college career was spent at Pensacola Christian College and I would not trade that experience for anything. Two popular questions I get are, “Oh, where’s that?” and “Why did you leave Florida to come back to Arkansas?”

5. I’m gluten-intolerant.

It’s like an allergy, but not exactly the same. The prominent difference is that I won’t go into anaphylactic shock when exposed to gluten. It basically means that I cannot eat anything that contains wheat or wheat flour. It usually gives me a headache or a stomach ache or just causes me to not feel well in general.

That’s about the summary of my life. I’d like to get to know you, too. Please share your thoughts or ask some questions in the comments. If you have a blog, follow me or copy the link so I can get to know you, as well.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
