This week in the NFL was wonderful. The Dallas Cowboys finally got beat, making them 11-2! As for the Cleveland Browns, psh, I'm pretty sure the Alabama Crimson Tide can't beat them. So let's get to it!
1. New England Patriots (11-2) – New England defense woke up against the Baltimore Ravens. Having the final score at 30-23, New England survived yet again against an American Football Conference rival.
2. Dallas Cowboys (11-2) – Dallas put up a good fight against the New York Giants, but their fight wasn’t good enough and they fell to 11-2 on the season. Next up, they face the Minnesota Vikings at Minnesota. It’ll be a fight to the end.
3. Kansas City Chiefs (10-3) – Following them beating the Oakland Raiders on Dec. 8, they move up on the Power Ranking this week. That being said, Kansas City is looking really good for the playoffs.
4. Oakland Raiders (10-3) – Losing to Kansas City was a big deal because Kansas City is now the second seed in the playoffs since they are both 10-3. Oakland is still in the playoffs, but not as high.
5. Detroit Lions (9-4) – Detroit is on a five-game winning streak, beating the Chicago Bears 20-17. However, they face the New York Giants next week, so that’ll be a great game to watch.
6. New York Giants (9-4) – After beating the Dallas Cowboys twice, once in Week 1 and once this week, New York is looking really good to be the new Super Bowl team. They did everything right, their defense was awake, picking off Dak Prescott and eventually leading to a touchdown.
7. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-5)
8. Seattle Seahawks (8-4-1)
9. Denver Broncos (8-5)
10. Atlanta Falcons (8-5)
11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-5)
^ The above teams are still in the playoffs, but that could change. It’s a week-by-week determination because all of their divisions are strong.
12. Miami Dolphins (8-5)
13. Green Bay Packers (7-6)
14. Baltimore Ravens (7-6)
15. Houston Texans (7-6)
16. Minnesota Viking (7-5)
17. Tennessee Titans (7-6)
^ All these teams are still in the hunt for a playoff spot, but with how the playoff picture is looking, these teams will not all be in the postseason.
18. Washington Redskins (7-5)
19. Buffalo Bills (6-7)
20. Indianapolis Colts (6-7)
^ These teams need to improve on all cylinders: offensively, defensively and certainly on special teams. For the Colts, they have had a rough time with dropped balls and fumbles from the special teams.
21. Arizona Cardinals (5-7-1)
22. Cincinnati Bengals (5-7-1)
^ Both with 5-7-1 records, they have to keep their heads up high and catch some balls because for Cincinnati, the only “good” receive is AJ Green and for the Cardinals, they have their defensive players like Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu that keep the game interesting.
23. New Orleans Saints (5-8)
24. Carolina Panthers (5-8)
25. San Diego Chargers (5-8)
26. Philadelphia Eagles (5-8)
^ They are all having struggles with winning big games. If they keep it up, they will all be eliminated from the playoffs.
27. New York Jets (4-9)
28. Los Angeles Rams (4-9)
^ Let’s look at it from this standpoint, if you are a Jets fan, then, as of right now, they have the fifth pick in the National Football League Draft. For the Rams, well you can take the Rams out of St. Louis, but you can’t take the St. Louis out of the Rams ...
29. Chicago Bears (3-10) – Remember, y’all still got basketball season where the Bulls are 13-11 at the beginning of the season and they still have the whole season ahead of them. No playoffs for them this postseason though.
30. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-11) – Well, it’s the Jags so what do you expect? However, they do have a losing streak now on eight games and are eliminated from postseason contention.
31. San Francisco 49ers (1-12) – Their offense is just terrible. Defensively, they have nothing going their way and the same with special teams. Just terrible all-in-all. Having Chip Kelly as the head coach and starting with a new team in San Fran 1-12, it doesn’t look good. Eliminated from the playoffs.
32. Cleveland Browns (0-13) – Fortunately, you have the basketball season and baseball is just four months away. My prediction is that they will go 0-16 and they will be the first team to go 0-16 since the Detroit Lions accomplished that in 2008. Oh, they're also eliminated from the playoffs — thought I might just throw that out there.
