Every time I go into the downtown area of my town I pass a SoulCycle studio. For those of you that don't know SoulCycle is an indoor cycling studio that has been sweeping the nation. SoulCycle is just one of my spinning studios around the country. I have always been interested in trying a spinning class but have been deterred by the hefty price tag. 1 class at SoulCycle costs $30. You can buy packs of classes which tends to be less expensive, I, however, could never justify the price.

Earlier this week my friend told me about this spinning studio called Zengo. She said it was an amazing workout and less expensive than SoulCycle. They offer your first class for free so I figured I would go check it out. We signed up for a 7:15 a.m. class which was interesting because I am by not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination. Some people are excited by the morning, I am repulsed by it. The prospect of waking up at 6:30 was daunting and seemingly impossible.

Shockingly enough I got my ass up and out the door on time and let me tell you, I am SO GLAD I did. I am now completely obsessed with spinning. When the class first started I genuinely thought I was going to pass out. It was hot and I could barely understand nor keep up with the instructor. However, after about 20 minutes I finally felt like I was getting my grove. I could cycle on the beat and climb the "hills" with the best of them. Exiting the class I was drenched in sweat. My clothes weren't sweaty, they were soaking wet.

After my class, I finally understood why people are obsessed with spinning classes. Not only is it a phenomenal workout but you get an incredible rush of endorphins at the end. It helps me kick start my morning and puts me in a good mood for the rest of the day. While the price tag may be a little high, in my opinion, it is totally worth it!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
